 With a 213.5 in the first go that Curtis Bass referred to as “survival,” he and Fletch That Cat came back in the second go Tuesday night to post a solid 215 that was sufficient to earn the pair this year’s Limited Open Derby Championship! The division within the Open Derby came to a finish last night and Bass turned in the top composite for the feat on the mare. According to Bass, the mare had all the try he could’ve asked for, but said he just didn’t cut good enough cows to advance to the $10,000 Novice finals as he’d hoped.
